20gig ps3 is no longer in production so are therefore quite rare (prices vary), they can get expensive because they can play ps2 games
The common 2 USB port PS3 Fat and Slim models do not play PS2 games. Only some PS2 titles can be played in early 4 USB port PS3s. None of these models have been produced since August 2008. The Best PS2 Player the 60 GB PS3 stopped production in August 2007. These 4 port models had an overheating problem and could be temporary repaired by reflowing the soldier and are a risky purchase

Not all PS3 80 GB models even play PS2 games if yours has only 2 USB ports to plug a controller in, it is one that can not play PS2 games. On the 4 USB port PS3 models you play the PS2 games from Game Discs not downloads except the ones that may be available from the Playstation store. The fourth Generation of PS3s are the 120 GB and 250 GB PS3 slim model which do not play PS2 games with Backward Compatibility. All PS3 models play PlayStation 1 Games and do so through software emulation.
