The river basin covers an extremely vast area of land in Peru, Columbia, and Brazil. Peru is classified as a "presidential representative democratic" state. Columbia has much the same classification, but with the word "republic" at the end. Brazil claims to have the same thing. That having been said, the river it's self runs through extremely dense and very sparsely populated rain forest. "Government" per sae would be relatively weak or tribal in these areas.
There isn't any kind of shark in the Amazon river. There is a kind of dolphin. Sharks are sea fish.
