There is a small problem with this. We really do not have a full picture of what the Milky Way Galaxy actually looks like! The reason is, we are in it - and have not ventured much into it, let alone gain a picture of what it looks like in it's entirety.

We have made guesses, but the main structure has been based on the Andromeda Galaxy.

However, in size and composition (they are both large spiral galaxies) it would be fair to say the two do look similar.
