The Church has said that she is the co-redemptrix with Our Blessed Lord, but this in no way implies that she is the co-savior. It highlights that she cooperated in a more excellent way than the rest of us in redemption in consenting to become the Mother of God and in freely consenting in His labors, sufferings, and death for the salvation of the human race. As such, she is in no senseequal to Christ in His redemptive activity since she herself required redemption and in fact was redeemed by her Son. He alone merited man's salvation. Mary effectively interceded to obtain subjective application of Christ's merits to those whom the Savior had objectively redeemed.
