ls6 engine 405hp ls1 engine 350hp
The LS6 has 325hp. The Firehawk has 335hp.
The 70 LS6 Chevelle with the 454 big block was rated at 450 horse power but at the dragstrip, with only mods to prevent body tweaking, it put out closer to 480 HP.
The base model's 5.7L LS1 V8 puts out 350hp and the Z06's 5.7L LS6 V8 puts out 385hp.
the earliest camaro ls1's were 275 then as time past they were bumped up to 305. This was taken from the Wikipedia website. The LS1 shares little other than similar displacement, external dimensions, and rod bearings, with the earlier small-block V8 engines. It is an all-aluminum 5.7 L (346 in³) pushrod engine and was rated between 305 - 350 hp (227 to 261 kW) and 335-365 ft·lbf (454-494 N·m) of torque in North America, depending on the application. In Australia, continuous modifications were made to the LS1 engine throughout its lifetime, reaching 382 hp (285 kW) in the HSV's YII series and a Callaway modified version, named C4B, was fitted to HSV GTS models producing 402 hp (300 kW). The version fitted to the Pontiac GTO featured a higher-lift camshaft to produce 350 hp (261 kW) and 365 ft·lbf (494 Nm) of torque. Beginning in 2001, the LS1 received the higher-flowing intake (from the LS6), and a smaller camshaft to keep power at the same level; this also allowed GM to remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system (Camaro/Firebird only; 97-00 Corvette LS1 never used an EGR system). The block is very similar to that of the higher-output LS6; beginning in 2002, some LS1 engines were actually built using the LS6 block instead. The LS1 was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 1998, but even though the ls1 is both larger and of higher compression, than the 4.6L 32 Valve Cobra Engine, it does not make more power. The SVT engine is clearly more efficient and superior to GM's outdated pushrod LS1.
The LS1 was introduced in the Corvette in 1997, and made its way into the Trans Am and Camaro in 1998. The Camaro Z28 and Trans am were advertised at 305 hp and the SS and WS6 at 320. Ratings stayed the same until 2001. The 01-02 SS and WS6 models were rated at 325 thanks to an LS6 intake manifold borrowed from the Vette. However a slightly smaller cam was used to keep power at the same level. The fact is an ls1 is an ls1 reguardless of year or model. The SS and WS6 cars will NOT dyno higher than a Z28 or ls1 formula. All 98-02 LS1 cars dyno 280-300 with the A4, and 300-320 with the m6. Forget about the GM ratings. All LS1 cars are good for 350-360BHP. GM underrated these motors in order to keep sales up on the "king of the hill" Corvette.
Need to know the year.. In 1970 the LS5 version produced 390 hp. The LS6 produced 450 hp.The LS7 crate engine produced 500 hp. The 1971 LS5 made 365 hp. The LS6 made 425 hp. The 1972 LS5 made 270 hp. The 1973 LS4 made 275 hp.
factory numbers will always be off. 2001-2002 LS1 f-bodies have the LS6 intake manifold so they dyno a bit more than previous years. For a STOCK LS1 At the Crank we are looking at about 350HP, and to the Rear WHeels we are looking at about as low as 290 and as much as 325, depending on location and condition of vehicle maintinace ect...and for the record SS models only have a 2-5HP increase over a Z28. The SS package is just an apearance Package NOT a performance package! 305 Hp
Depends upon so many factors, where to begin? (1) Model of the 350 engine (lots of difference between an LT-1, LS1, LS6, etc and an L98) (2) Year of 350 engine (3) Application (what vehicle) (4) Power to weight ratio of vehicle (5) Transmission and Gear Ratio (6) Condition of the engine.
The LS3 was offered in the Chevrolet Corvette, Pontiac GTO, and Chevrolet SSR Roadster. It is the standard engine in the Pontiac G8 GT. The LS2 is one of the most adaptable engines as LS1, LS3, LS6, & L92 cylinder heads work well on it.
Base 350 - 300 hp (224 kW) L46 - 350 hp (261 kW) LT1 - 370 hp (276 kW) LS5 - 390 hp (291 kW) LS6 - 450 hp (336 kW)
