The air consists of nitrogen and oxygen, however carbon dioxide and methane have an impact on the amount of energy that is stored in the atmosphere and the earth's climate. The atmosphere does not operate as an isolated system, the world's oceans play a vital role as well. The Ocean's currents move heat from warm latitudes to colder latitudes, and heat is transferred by the way of moisture. Water evaporating from the surface of the oceans stores heat which is released when the vapor condenses to form clouds and rain. The oceans store most of the heat than the atmosphere.
