No. The most common letters of the alphabet are on the lefthand side of the keyboard. They are e, r, s, t, followed by a. On the righthand side of the keyboard, only n and l are common letters. The spacebar can be used by either hand and is a personal comfort choice, as is the caps function.

Touch typing refers to being able to type without looking at the keyboard. Touch typing also includes the use of all of one's fingers on the keyboard, as opposed to hen pecking which is typically typing with the two index figures while looking at the keyboard.
