Jesus isn't called the "Prince of Peace"... yet. The prophecy says that He SHALL BE called that when He finally establishes the Kingdom of God on earth.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the Government SHALL BE upon His shoulder: and His name SHALL BE CALLED Wonderful, Counseller, The Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, The PRINCE OF PEACE." (Isa.9:6)

To be sure... Jesus Christ is the "Prince of Peace" in the hearts and minds of those who are His, now, during this dispensation of time allotted to men.

"PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU, MY PEACE I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (Luke 24:27)

But, Isaiah's prophecy speaks of the coming "global" rule of the "gospel" [the GOOD NEWS] of God's Kingdom over all the nations on earth.

"...it SHALL COME TO PASS IN THE LAST DAYS, that the Mountain [Government] of the Lord's House SHALL BE ESTABLISHED in the top of the mountains [above all the governments of man], and SHALL BE exalted above the hills [lesser governments of man]; and ALL NATIONS SHALL FLOW UNTO IT." (Isa.2:2)

"Of the increase of His Government and PEACE there shall be no end, UPON THE THRONE OF DAVID, and upon His Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with Justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this." (Isa.9:7)

Of this future rule, Isaiah says:

"...He SHALL JUDGE AMONG MANY NATIONS, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: NATION SHALL NOT LIFT UP SWORD AGAINST NATION, NEITHER SHALL THEY LEARN WAR ANY MORE." (Isa.2:4)

This isn't talking about the "personal, calm inner peace" of God's Children, scattered around the earth, today. This is talking about real, legislated, GLOBAL PEACE! The coming Kingdom of God WILL NOT ALLOW WARS TO BE WAGED BY ANY NATION. This is talking about a condition on earth that no man can imagine [in spite of John Lennon's song]... WORLD PEACE.

Years ago, someone posed the question to a computer, what would it take to have "total world peace" on earth. And the computer's "one-word" answer was:

"POWER!"

And as the prophecy says: Jesus Christ SHALL RETURN with that very "peace-establishing" POWER.

"Immediately AFTER THE TRIBULATION of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and THEN SHALL APPEAR the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and THEN SHALL ALL THE TRIBES [nations] of the earth mourn, and THEY SHALL SEE the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven WITH POWER and GREAT GLORY." (Matt.24:29-30)

"...Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ALL POWER IS GIVEN UNTO ME IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH. Go ye therefore, and TEACH ALL NATIONS, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world [age]. Amen." (Matt.28:18-20)

Unfortunately, modern professing Christianity turned this message into, "Yes, Jesus loves me"... and the vast majority of the religion is clueless that Jesus Christ wields ALL THE POWER OF THE UNIVERSE... and is going to bring it to earth to ESTABLISH GLOBAL PEACE.

The world doesn't know... and modern professing Christianity isn't telling it.

But, it SHALL BE DONE... without any man's knowledge or understanding of it... or belief in it. Jesus Christ IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE... make no mistake. But, the world doesn't call Him that -- yet.

"...He that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I GIVE POWER OVER THE NATIONS: and HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON..." (Rev.2:26-27).

Most folks don't consider that "world peace doesn't just HAPPEN." The nations of men send into different parts of the world their "peace-keeping" FORCES. But, there is "NO PEACE TO KEEP"... because peace hasn't been established yet.

You can't "keep" water "hot" until you first MAKE IT HOT! THEN, you can try to "keep it hot." And you can't "keep the peace" until you first "MAKE PEACE." Then, you can take measures to "keep" it.

That's what Jesus SHALL DO when He returns -- ESTABLISH WORLD PEACE.

And He's going to do it BY MAKING WAR!

"...I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in Righteousness He doth JUDGE and MAKE WAR." (Rev.19:11)

POWER. That's what man understands... and that's how Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace is returning to earth -- wielding the Power of the universe.

"...with Righteousness SHALL HE JUDGE the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and HE SHALL SMITE THE EARTH: with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips SHALL HE SLAY THE WICKED." (Isa.11:4)

The world doesn't know Jesus Christ, the "Prince of Peace," yet. But, it SHALL.

I think it was Jesus himself who foretold of a 'prince of the world'

  • John {14:28} Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. {14:29} And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. {14:30} Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. {14:31} But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do… Arise, let us go hence.

It does. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
