Even in a water medium( sound transfers much more efficiently in it) the sound is infinitesimal at best. Only recently have we actually learned that octipodes make any sound, and even more recently been able to capture the noise. It is interesting to note that several people have claimed to hear the sound of one particular species of octopus, Bradlicus Shannledon. But in an almost uncanny fashion their description accurately fits that of the refined, audible playback. The most precise understanding of this noise is related to the "predator" in the predator series, or an array of growling clicks. Other species of closely related octipodes can be referenced as monkey squeals, incessant giggles, or "gurhujhilljxzgrqqwa"....
