The beauty of Cockers is that they can handle a lot of exercise (mine 22 miles over the course of two days and she is 9!!) but can also do with less when the weather is crappy. However, they do need 2 walks a day, as does any dog. Also, bear in mind that they are sporting dogs so they love to exercise including swimming, running, and of course chasing balls.

Not that I'm an expert on puppies or anything but I do know that cocker spaniels used to be used for picking up pigeons when they were shot (the pigeons) by people and they would bring them back to them. They dribble sometimes because their mouth has an outline that is quite soft and it dribbles. They have this soft jaw line because when they carried the pigeons they didn't want to hurt them - or something like that anyway. Don't be put off cocker spaniels though because they are easy to train and are good around children. Also my dad used to have one and it didn't dribble so I personally think it's a load of rubbish. I personally have a Cocker Spaniel and I love him to bits, he is going 7 soon and has calmed down a lot over the years, so always keep that in mind. Just down the road from me lives a family with a labradoodle dog, a mixed breed cross between a labrador and a poodle, this is a big dog but is quite shy and grumpy.
