Yes, verizon now requires you to have a minimum $9.99/month data package with certain phones - including the EnV touch, EnV3 and Alias 2. I think it's complete bull. I just bought the EnV3 and now I have to return it because I don't want the data package.In fact, I renewed my contract with verizon for 2 more years so I could get the EnV3 (not knowing it required a data package) and now I fully regret it. I should've switched to another cellular provider because Verizon is underhanded. When I ordered the phone a few days ago I never agreed to sign up for the data package, nor did the website say ANYTHING about a required data package.
