In my 2001 I30t owners manual the fuel filter is listed as a non-serviceable item. I checked the manual after buying one to replace it and couldn't locate it easily. Check your manual or call the dealer to be sure.
The fuel filter is to be replaced and not cleaned.
the fuel filter is located right on top of engine. there is a big aluminum cylander with a black cap on it, you have to unscrew the cap to remove filter.
The fuel filter is integrated with the fuel pump module located inside the fuel tank. It cannot be serviced. If it needs to be replaced, the entire fuel pump module must be replaced, which requires either removal of the fuel tank, or removal of the truck box.

Check to see if catalytic converter is stopped up,a clogged fuel filter can cause it to go bad .
You do not need a photo. Just follow the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the engine and you will find the filter. If you find no filter then the filter is a permanent filter inside the fuel tank that is replaced when the fuel pump is replaced.
If the filter is mounted in the fuel tank, no. It is replaced when the fuel pump is replaced. If the filter is mounted in the fuel line it should have been replaced every 50,000 miles.
You do not clean any fuel filter you just replace it. If it has a filter in the tank it is a permanent filter that is only replaced when the pump is replaced.
