it makes the bone rubbery and can make it bendy
The vinegar (weak acetic acid) will de-calcify (remove the calcium) from the bone - thus rendering it flexible...easy to perform yourself. Best to clean the bone well before trying, change vinegar solution each day.
Spine. Bone, not muscle.
When you soak bones in vinegar what will happen is that the chicken bone will weaken and the bone will become more flexible. So after soaking the chicken bone into vinegar for a week the bone will be so flexible that it will be able to bend. This is a great science fair project also.
That cracking sound is the result of crepitus, which is the result of bone on bone movement or bone on ligament movement.
Your backbone "bends" as you bend over.
Bone Remodeling does not affect compact bobe, but it DOES affect Spongy bone tissue.
The acid in the vinegar dissolves out the calcium in the chicken bone. (Calcium is most of the reason that bones are hard.)
Because the vinegar transforms the chicken bone particles to a RUBBERY substance it not really rubber! :P Ta-Da
Length is very important for bone strength because the longer the bone, the weaker the bone, and the shorter it is, the stronger it will be.
