If the father goes to prison his responsibility for child support does not stop. For all practical purposes, he will have no income and will not be able to pay you one cent. Do not expect to get any money out of him while his is in prison.
i have no money that's why i am on here
It depends on what the money is owed for. Your check can and will be garnished if you owe money for child support, back taxes, student loans, owe money the state you live in. Other than that, no, regardless if you're in prison or not.
If you mean "turned it in," you keep pushing the child support office until they give you some definite answers. Keep in mind that the answer might be, "we can't find him," "he's in jail/prison," "he doesn't have any money" or, "he's dead."
The child does not receive the money, the adult responsible for the child gets the money.
yes
Claiming a dependent is not dependent on the child support issue but rather on the amount of time the child spends with each parent.
Why not? The child still has needs, even if one of the parents is in prison. Prisoners already have their rent and 'grocery bills' taken care of, so if the prisoner has any money, they should help taking care of the child they helped 'make'.
i got a large sum of money from my ex husband 401 k when we got divorced do i have to report it to child support
You are supposed to use it to support your children...
If you are supposed to pay child support, the fact that the child is earning money from two jobs, has nothing to do with child support. Child support is paid to the person looking after the child to help support your child!
Child support has first take with any moneys that you get. If you are behind in child support, they will take their percentage out of any money you get.
