Some live in saltwater envioments (like ostracods), alot live in freshwater environments (like crayfish), and some lie in human care (like pet hermit crabs). Some are able to live underwater, but it is quite unusual. The reason people think of crustaceans living in the ocean is because they can live days without food, but CANNOT go without water for very long. I once had a hermit creab that died of dehydration once. :(
