Your kill/deth ratio in black ops is not affected by the split screen player. It will copy your profile ('player' for example) to a temporary file and puts your friend in control of 'player(1)'. Now you have two profiles as long as you stay in the game. Both profiles can level up and spend earned COD Points seperately from eachother. The temporary profile will be deleted as soon as you sign off from black ops and a new copy will be created when you add a splitscreener again.
Hope this helped.
