There are actually 4 different forms of the vaccination. The DTaP (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus) is injected into to the arm or thigh. The DT (tetanus and diphtheria) is also injected into the arm or thigh. Finally, the Td (tetanus and diphtheria) and the T vaccine (tetanus only) is generally only injected into the upper arm.
Yeah it hurts just a little bit, but it is a pain you soon forget about. Tetanus (or d-tap) shot combines diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough) The tetanus shot hurts, but only for a second. 1) Ask for numbing cream at the beginning of the appointment 2) Do NOT look at the needle! 3) Keep calm and don't think about it! 4) Look away, think about stuff that you want to do when you get home.
Yes, the year nine tetanus shot hurts. It hurts more than most shots, but less than the HPV shot. It is more of a muscle ache afterwards though.
DPT vaccine for diphtheria, polio and tetanus have a few possible side effects/reactions Local reaction at the site of injection these include: Pain Redness Hardening of the skin Swelling Bruising Dizziness Nausea and vomiting High temperature Headache These symptoms usually begin within 48 hours of the vaccination, lasting for 1-2 days. Please bear in mind, that it may be different from person to person. One person may feel perfectly well after, another not so much. I had a DPT vaccine today and i seem to be OK thankfully. The vaccine itself did not hurt but a very quick poke on the arm (honestly). There is a little feeling of pressure at the point and a little hard to move but that's it, i had my vaccination approx 11 hours ago. Hope this helps.
cause it hurt.
No.
Tetanus boosters are good for 10 years. If you go past the 10 year mark, the other booster wont hurt you when you get it.I got a Tetanus shot in 1994 and that is the first one I ever remember having.I felt fine after having it.
Everyone has a different pain tolerance so everyone would have different opinions on how bad an injection is. Both injections are into the muscle so the pain should about the same. After you get the injection I'd recommend doing some arm exercises and mildly rubbing the area.
When giving a tetanus shot, nurses warn the patient to take a couple of Tylenol and take it easy for the rest of day. The shot can cause mild flu-like symptoms in some, as well as tenderness at the injection site. The shots I have taken have been typical, leaving my arm sore and achy for a couple of days. I also had a knot at the injection site for a few weeks, but that eventually went away.
It hurts alot but try not to think about it it won't hurt if you don't get scared too much
