yes both require the use of matter. conduction is basically passing heat from one particle to the next. convertion is heating a cold fluid and the hot particles move, allowing more cold particles to take their place and be heated. Hot air from a radiator raises, cold air moves in to take its place and is heated etc.
Yes, because how else is the heat gonna move if there is no mass to expand and change it's density and move around so technically no energy will eventually move and no heat will be passed on, same thing with conduction, without matter, energy won't be able to move, the only possible way without the need of matter for energy to transfer is Radiation.
No, what you've defined is conduction.
Not exactly. Conduction is the movement of SOMETHING. Thermal energy is one possibility, as is electricity.
thermal energy can transfer through conduction, convention and radiation
Conduction, convection and radiation
Radiation requires neither contact (through which conduction transfers heat) nor mass flow or movement (through which convection transfers heat). Only radiation can take place in a vacuum. Convection and conduction both require a material medium for the heat transfer to occur. Only radiation can transfer thermal energy through the vacuum of space.
you guys dont know this omg bye
Thermal energy travels by conduction, convection, and radiation. Conduction occurs when two or more objects of different temperatures are touching each other. The heat flows from the warmer object to the cooler object, until the objects reach equal temperatures. Convection is the transfer of thermal energy through a moving liquid or gas. Radiation is the transfer of thermal energy though matter and space.

This proess is called conduction. The other processes are convection and radiation. Convection is the transfer of energy through movement, such as boiling water. Radiation is the transfer of thermal energy through a medium or space, such as the sun heating the earth.
Radiation requires neither contact (through which conduction transfers heat) nor mass flow or movement (through which convection transfers heat). Only radiation can take place in a vacuum. Yes it is. Heat is form of energy and can be transferred through 3 mode Conduction Convection and Radiation
There are different types of thermal energy like conduction, convection, and radiation. But the one that requires objects to touch is conduction.

conduction ,convection ,radiation, there are also many others but there very rare
Heat travels in 3 ways. Conduction, convection and radiation. Conduction is the transfer of heat through collision of particles. Convection is the transfer of heat through the movements of particles (ie. hot particle rises, cold particle sinks). Vacuum is made up of nothing (when there is no particle, it is vacuum), and so, it is unable to transfer heat through conduction and convection at all, making it the best thermal insulator
