Yes - whales have many adaptations.

For example - the respiratory and circulatory systems of a whale are adapted so that they can deal with the pressure when whales dive. The heart slows so that less oxygen and energy are needed, and the blood is sent to the places vital for survival (such as the brain).

Whales also have a much greater concentration of red blood cells than land mammals, enabling them to store oxygen for longer.
