On my old Litton Generation II microwave, you press the time button. Then, on the number buttons below the power level button, you begin entering the time wanted. Numbers displayed will move progressively left. Example: for 5 minutes you would first press 5, then zero, zero for your seconds. For 51/2 minutes, you would press 5, then 3, then zero= 5 minutes 30 seconds. The display will show 5:30. Place food in microwave and press "start" to begin cooking.
