It is not a good idea to delete your browsing history, because of the fact that it is clear that you've done that for any reason. Mainly people do that not to reveal their browsing habits. I'd suggest to find and delete only compromising information from your PC, i.e. scan your PC history, choose ONLY the items that MUST BE DELETED. Consider using History Killer Pro 5.0.1. It is the program you need.

The browser I use is chrome, for that you'd go to the wrench icon and select tools and from there select 'Clear Browsing Data' On IE you'd select the 'Safety' drop down menu and from there you'd pick the 'Delete Browsing Data' option. Remember though, even if you delete browsing history websites like Google may keep track of the info without your consent. to prevent this I suggest using Google Chrome's 'In Cognito' feature. Since Firefox version 4 to delete the browsing history click on the Firefox button in the top left hover of history, then click clear browsing history. Then from there you can select the time frame to delete and then hit "Clear now". You can also press Ctrl+Shift+del on a windows, mac or Linux machine and follow the same steps following clicking clear browsing history. Tools > Clear Private Data... or just press Ctrl + Shift + Delete Tools > Options...
