The sun can cause a form of weathering known as thermal stress weathering / insolation weathering (or more informally as onion skin weathering).
This is a process whereby surface material of a rock expands due to heating by the suns radiation and then contracts again when it cools at night. As only the surface of the rock undergoes this expansion and contraction it begins to de-laminate or break away from the underlying material due to the differential stresses that develop in the rock.
From my understanding, the answer is no. The logic behind this is that the moon does not have any liquids nor much of an atmosphere (if any) And with the lack of these we have a lack of erosion. For proof, we can see craters that are thousands of years old on the moon, if there was erosion there would be far less craters than we actually do see
Yes. Certain types of rock are degraded by sunlight, and peel away a fraction of an inch per year. You see fractionated rock form piles of dirt at the base of sun facing cliffs for this reason.
The sun has no solid surface; what happens to its visible surface (the photosphere) can only be described as "weathering" or "erosion" to the same extent you could use those words to describe the changes in the surface of a cloud.
Living things can erode things by walking on it, blowing it, and throwing things on it. This can chip or blow away sediment shaping the landform differently.

question: What role does weathering play in the formation of soil? answer: soil forms as rock is broken down by weathering and mixes with other materials on the surface.
Breaks down rocks
true
Temperature and Pressure
For a sedimentary rock to form the rock must of previously be turned into sediments, by weathering.
weathering occurs faster in warm and rainy climate. the rate of which soil forms depends on the climate and type of rock. so soil formation is faster when weathering is quicker too.
wind is strong and weakens the rock causing it to break down.
The Sun is the source of energy
It could cause oxidation, which could lead to an event like rust.
IT play the evaporate role.
