not really, rum has a distinct taste.
Vodka is an Eastern European drink made from either grain or potatoes while White and Dark Rum are distilled from sugar cane.

White spirit can mean a couple of different things. It's a group name for clear, transparent alcohols for human consumption. Vodka, Gin, Rum etc. It's also a solvent used for diluting Paints and cleaning stuff.
