You have to build a large number of turbines to get a decent amount of energy, and it takes up land that could be used for agriculture (although for livestock this isn't a problem). Some also complain that they are an eyesore, but anyone living or working that close to a wind turbine field probably has a choice.

Low frequency noise and light flickering through the blades can be a problem to near neighbours. They should be compensated if they are to become more widespread and improve their press reports.
