During this whole 9 month cycle of pregnancy the female body changes alot, the pelvic bones are already quite broad in females as compared to men (that's one of the ways how a female skeleton can be recognized) during pregnancy ... the body is preparing itself for the delivery of the child and all the changes include widening of the muscles at the front, strengthning of the vaginal walls, loosening of the uterus etc. The butt does not directly just fatten up or get "big" as you asked but ... you eat alot for yourself and your baby like carbohydrates and unsaturated fat ... so ... yes, your butt will gradually increase in size and change shape during pregnancy ! Hope i answered it good enough Regards Wiki-Answer-Contributor SaberTooth
