you don't have to but it is tight in there.
extremely difficult without removing the engine. i have seen some drop the engine down about a foot by disconnecting the motor and transmission mounts & did not disconnect alot of lines and were able to change the intake gasket.
you have to raise the motor or drop the k member, or both
you can either drop the oil pan 1/2 of an inch and get a 4 piece gasket but more than likely you need to loosen the motor mount bolts get a motor lift
You must first unbolt motor mounts and then jack up motor to drop the oil pan.
raise the front up high and drop the engine and trans together out the bottom
Drop lower transmission pan Oil will run out Change filter and gasket
drain the oil, drop the pan, remove old gasket, put new gasket in, reinstall pan, fill with oil......simplest job in the world......
I think you have to drop the pan, just have a new gasket handy if you do.
You have to drop the subframe
Sorry, no drain plug. You have to drop the pan, change the filter, clean the old gasket from the mating surfaces and add a new gasket whenever you change the transmission oil.
you have to drop the entire pan since there is no plug and you might as well change the filter and gasket while you have it off
