The French Renaissance.
Nothing is commonly called the King's valley. Now "Kings' valley" could well be a public-relation formula intended to give some fillip to the Loire valley, in which you can find a number of castles (Blois, Chambord, Chenonceaux, ...) built by French Kings and royals. These castles were built during the Renaissance period in the Loire river valley and some tributaries (the Cher notably).

Taj Mahal
Chateau de Chenonceau was designed and supervised by a woman, Katherine Bricolet. Thomas Bohler, rebuilt the chateau to her specifications. It was completed in 1521. When Henri II came to power, he gave the chateau to Diane de Poitiers, his mistress. When Henri died, His wife, Catherine de Medici dispalced Diane and moved in to the chateau, adding her own touches.
