Most slaves worked in the household of wealthy egyptians. They cooked, served, cleaned, washed clothes, made beer or entertained the family as dancers, musicians and acrobats.
Some slaves were made to work on the land of a noble or temple. An educated slave often enjoyed high status looking after his master's affairs perhaps owning land and slaves himself.
Slaves also served in the army.
Others were not so fortunate. They toiled, often naked, under hard overseers digging canals, building monuments and temples, working in the quarries or worst of all in the mines.
The slaves in ancient Egypt worked in the mines, worked in the field and cooked for their masters.
