NO. Early shotguns have softer steel barrels, and are not rated for steel shot. It will damage the choke of the shotgun.

As long as you don't shoot steel shot thru it. Lead only. If you do, you will bulge the barrel at the end. Guaranteed. The jap A-5's will accept steel without any damage. Browning collector If it is is good working condition, why couldn't you?

If it has choke tubes, yes. If it is fixed choke, no. I called Browning about mine and that was the answer they gave me.
