Gasoline is a fossil fuel, so burning it releases carbon dioxide from millions of years go. This extra CO2 is too much for the carbon cycle to deal with, so the normal greenhouse effect becomes an accelerated greenhouse effect which is causing global warming.

Gasoline, or petroleum, is a fossil fuel. It contains carbon dioxide from millions of years ago, so when it is burnt it adds to the normal greenhouse effect which has become overwhelmed by all the extra carbon dioxide. The normal greenhouse effect is now warming into the accelerated greenhouse effect.

Petrol is a fossil fuel, so when we burn petrol to power our cars the burning releases carbon dioxide, a powerful greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere. Too much carbon dioxide is turning the greenhouse effect into an accelerated greenhouse effect which is causing global warming.

There is no 'might' to it, it does raise global temperature. When you burn anything, it releases carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is one of the gases that keeps the heat on the planet from escaping. People that produce fuel for you to use will tell you that there is no proof of global warming. They are telling lies to maintain their profits.

People do not want to give up cars, planes, cell phones, electricity, etc. so they hope that these profiteers are telling the truth. For this generation, they will have to pay a small price for their stupidity. But, the next generation will have to pay a very high price in mass migrations to a better climate. There will be wars over these places with a good climate. If little or nothing is done, three generations from now, all the higher forms of life will go extinct.

There is a point of no return. If people smarten up after the point of no return is reached, there is nothing they can do except -- die. I don't know when that tipping point is to occur, but it is close at hand.

Burning which fossil fuel - coal oil and natural gas - contributes least to global warming?

Burning natural gas contributes least to Global Warming.

How does the telephone cause global warming?

The telephone doesn't cause global warming. The use of any electrical appliance contributes to global warming, because most electricity comes from the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) which releases carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas.

Do electronics cause global warming?

Any use of electronics uses electricity, most of which is presently generated by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). So this contributes to global warming, but does not cause it. Global warming is caused by deforestation, and by our burning of fossil fuels in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, which releases carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas.

Which gas released from the burning of fossil fuels is the gas that contributes to global warming?

The gas released from the burning of fossil fuels that contributes to global warming is carbon dioxide (CO2).

How does plastic cause global warming?

Plastic in itself doesn't cause Global Warming. When we fail to recycle plastics we force manufacturers to use more oil to make more plastic. The factories use energy, which is usually generated by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). This burning releases carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas which is causing Global Warming.

Does increased industrialization cause global warming?

Yes, industry runs on fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), or on electricity generated by the burning of them. Any burning of fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide (CO2), the greenhouse gas responsible for global warming.

How do power stations cause global warming?

Power stations contribute to global warming if they use fossil fuels (coal, oil or natural gas) to generate their electricity. Burning fossil fuels is recognised as one of the two main causes of global warming (the other is deforestation). Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide, a powerful greenhouse gas which is accumulating in the atmosphere and causing global warming.

Does a hurricane cause global warming?

No, Hurricane Katrina caused flooding and terrible damage to humans and property, but it did not cause global warming. Global warming is caused among other things by man burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) and putting greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Which products of burning fossil fuels contribute to global warming?

Burning fossil fuels emits carbon dioxide, a powerful greenhouse gas. This is contributing to global warming.

What theory has humans as the main cause of global warming?

Anthropogenic Global Warming - that humans are causing global warming by the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, which releases carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that has been hidden underground for millions of years.

Did the accident at chernobyl cause global warming?

No, the Chernobyl nuclear accident did not cause global warming. It probably had no effect on it at all. Global warming is caused by the excessive burning of fossil fuels which releases additional carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere. Deforestation has also removed forests that used to remove this carbon from the environment.

Will greenhouse gas effect global warming?

yes, increases in greenhouse gasses are the dominant cause of global warming.
