A few come to my mind. The concept of the number 0 is first recorded in ancient Egyptian records. Early Metallurgy in Egypt was far advanced for the rest of the world at the time. They produced glass earlier then other civilizations. Many of their irrigation techniques are still used in some parts of the world today.
One contribution of Egyptians in chemistry was the making of paper. The Egyptians also used metallurgy and glass making to make tools and art.

LaVoisier made many major contributions to chemistry, one of them being that oxygen was necessary for combustion.
There are five major branches of chemistry: Analytical, Biochemistry, Inorganic, Organic, and Physical.
Modern examples: discovery of noble gases chemistry, VSEPR theory, discovery of fullerenes, organic electrical conductors, liquid crystals, nucleic acids structure, insulin synthesis, etc.
The TI-89 allows yout to save equations and formulas -- thus making it very useful for the Chemistry major. However, any programmable calculator should help the chemistry major with this.
I suppose that mathematics is more difficult than chemistry.
They proposed the Phlogiston Theory.

Archimedes was not a chemist.
The Babylonians, Egyptians, and Greeks were involved in the early development of geometry. However, the Greeks were major contributors to this field. Pythagoras, Thales, and Euclid are some men most famous for their contributions to this field.

Organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, and your guess is as good as mine. Biochemistry? Polymer chemistry? Surface chemistry? Theoretical chemistry? Nuclear chemistry? Depending on your bias any of those might be regarded as a subdivision of one of the Big Four or as a largely independent field of study. According to my textbook (Grade 11 Chem) they are Organic, Inorganic, Analytical, Physical and Biochemistry.
They contributed to algebra, astrology and to the field of medicine. Also, major contributions to astronomy and philosophy.

Germany. During the 1800's chemistry belonged to the Germans, especially organic chemistry. France and Britain made major contributions and the periodic table was a Russian development, but overall, Germany did the most.
