I had this problem a few weeks ago after having the sparkplugs/coils whatsits replaced. It turned out that one was faulty (they had to rotate them to find the bad one). Once they did that, all was well. We also replaced the crank sensor, but I am pretty sure that was just replacing a part instead of a good diagnosis. By the way, the computer message from the check engine light was inconclusive.
