Erich Friedrich Wilhelm Ludendorff was a German General. He is most famous for his military victories at Battle of Liege and Tannenberg. AS Quartermaster General of German forces he managed the German army during WW I jointly with Paul von Hindenburg. He resigned in 1918. Ludendorff was against total capitulation in Treaty of Versailles and later on in his political career as a nationalist leader advocated a military line of thinking even suggesting the idea of 'Total War', which called for concentrated national effort for war as he considered peace only temporary.
