because there isn't any.
you can drill a hole in the ground and find natural gas.
you cannot drill a hole in the ground and find hydrogen.
it doesn't exist naturally on, or near, the surface of the earth, in any significant quantity.
and by the time you've gone to the effort of creating it, you've wasted far more energy than the hydrogen you created contains.
