There are numerous reasons for bouts of diarrhea and vomiting; mild to serious food poisoning; Gastroenteritis (referred to as stomach flu -- there are bacterial or viral gastroenteritis); Viral gastritis/Norovirus (referred to "stomach flu," but it is not); erosive gastritis (caused by mucosal erosion to the stomach's lining, the sores are not as extensive as with ulcers); viral stomach flu (Influenza); gallbladder attacks; inflammatory colitis or ulcerative colitis; Crohn's disease; liver inflammation; Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); cancer; stomach ulcer (resulting from bacteria; E. Coli bacterial infection (mild to serious); salmonella poisoning; foods (intolerance to certain foods - gluten, lactose, spicy foods, alcohol, fats…); Rotavirus; H. pylori; reactive Arthritis (can cause diarrhea, vomiting, fever); Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome - CVS (a rare chronic functional disorder); stress/nervous stomach…
You should see a doctor and have testing of the upper and lower G.I. track. Try keeping records of your attacks; date, time…; what you were doing -- were you standing, setting, laying down; what you ate during the 24 hours preceding the attack; take and record your temperature at the beginning and after attacks; describe the vomit (solid, watery; its odor; was it projectile, the number of times you vomited, any dry heaves); describe the diarrhea (was there mucous or blood, its odor, were there cramps - mild or excessive); were you extremely stressed during the 24 hours prior to the attack; any info that may help the doctor determine it cause. Good luck on finding its cause.
Pregnancy can do this.
