I think that education is not sufficient for the 21st Century. Current employers do not hire based on academic attainment, they look for Character and additional skills that will add value to the organization. the 21st Century is the value addition Century.
So I think what Parents need to do with their children is nurture the creativity that is in Child into a skill. Invest in your Children's skills so that they do not do well in school to get good jobs but to start great businesses and create employment. The Education system worldwide kills creativity so it is the Parents duty to sustain the creativity in each child.
It is good to have expectations as a Parent but it the Parents that determine how their Children will turn out by what they teach their children and what they expose their children to. Parents therefore need to be positive role models to their Children
