Transposing means changing the orientation of data. So data in rows can be changed to be in columns and data in columns can be put into rows. It can only be done with copied data, and not cut data. So you could delete the original if you did not want it afterwards.
The first thing to do is to select the data. The do a copy action, using the mouse, menu or keys. Now put the cursor into the cell where you want the transposed data to start from. Now, the important part. Instead of pasting, you activate Paste Special. This can be found on the Edit menu, or if you right click on the mouse, it will be on the shortcut menu. At the end of the dialog box that Paste Special has, you will see the Transpose option. Click the box beside it to put a tick into it and then Click OK. Your data will be transposed.
