Hinduism's venerable age has seasoned it to maturity. It is the only religion, to my knowledge, which is not founded in a single historic event or prophet, but which itself precedes recorded history.

Hinduism is the one and only religion that,

1. Has no founder and thus is totally natural

2. Is eternal, with no beginning and no end.

3. Has no code of conduct

4. Is totally self sufficient and maintains by itself, without any conversion

5. Has no central place of worship and central authority

6. Can be decoded completely and understood thoroughly

7. Believes that facts are superior to beliefs. The supreme Hindu god Brahman is the one and only god that is totally based on facts.

Because of these unique features, Hinduism, though the third most popular religion, plays the pivotal role.

Hinduism is based on Brahmajnana, the universal and eternal knowledge. In computer language, Brahmajnana is the operating system of human beings.
1. Brahmajnana enables us to compare life today with that thousands of years ago. It is this comparison that has made us conclude that we are in Kali Yuga the worst of the four Yugas and the amazing quality of our life is just an illusion

2. While we have a material world that may look amazing, the damage we have caused to the nature is best ignored because it is irreparable. More important, we have sacrificed all the defence mechanisms a human beings would have. It is this absence of human defence mechanisms that has made the quality of our life the poorest in the entire history of human civilization.

3. Though we like to believe that we are super efficient in all aspects of life, Brahmajnana reveals us that for a given amount of happiness what we spend is absurdly high.

4. Our knowledge of the basics of life is pathetic. We don't have the faintest idea of what god, health, peace, consciousness, mental disorders, etc. are.

5. Other religions believe that Doom's day would destroy everything and enable man to restart a greed free life. Hinduism suggests reinstalling of the operating system viz. Brahmajnana.

Therefore, Brahmajnana, the supreme Hindu knowledge, should become the panacea for all human beings of this era.

Sanatana Dharma is important because of its liberal and accommodating nature. In today's world where people are so adamant about their way being right the "Hindu" way of thinking is vital to making sure things don't culminate in a WW III on the basis of religion.

Where do the followers of Hinduism live?

Throughout the world. Concentrated in India.Hinduism or 'Sanadan Dharma' - ie., Way of Life, is the first and foremost of the religions. Followers of Hinduism lived from the date when first person was created in the Earth. Example : In Bhagavatha purana says, Sage Kabila was doing penance in padala loka when 100 sons of King Sahara arrived. Padala loka here was referred to some foreign country. The followers of Hinduism are called Hindus. At present there are nearly a billion followers of Hinduism, mainly in India, though Hindus live in many countries now.
