It's best to research it on LLLI.org. They have the latest up to date info on breastmilk and all the advantages. if you knew what they did to cows milk to make it suitable for babies then you' never use it.

How long should I breastfeed my baby?

Health Canada and Canadian Pediatric Society recommend babies
receive only breastmilk up to six months of age and then continue
to receive breastmilk with the addition of solid foods up to 2
years of age and beyond.
Most medical authorities promote the recommendation that a mother
exclusively breast feed her child for the first six months. After
that nursing with other foods should continue at least until the
child is one year old. At what point a child should be weaned is
solely up to the mother. Worldwide, the average age of weaning is
about 3 to 4 years old. In general, the longer a mother nurses her
child the better both for the child and her own health. As the old
Vulcan saying goes; "Nurse long and prosper".

How does a baby get oxygen and food after birth?

Once babies are born, they breathe and feed in the same manner
as adults...with their noses and mouths. Their stomachs, however,
are not capable of digesting solid foods; therefore, babies must be
breastmilk/formula fed until they are at least 4 months of age.
Introducing food before 4 months can lead to malnourishment and
food allergies.
