Best Answer

Some cells have constraints on their size, for instance a cell wall, whereas other cells have flexible cell membranes, which pose no constraints on the cell size.

Bacteria are all unicelular, but some live in colonies where they actually don't differ that much in cell size. 'Bacteria' is the plural form of 'bacterium'.

Explain why cells can only grow to a limited size?

Cells will only grow to a certain size. If a cell gets too big, it is much harder for the cell to transport food and wastes in and out of the cell fro the nucleus. so, to avoid this, the cell divides.

Why are some cells so much bigger than others?

Cells are all the same size, however the amount of cells in a certain object differ. For example, the cell of an elephant and an ant are the same size, the elephant just has more.

Is the elephant cell have the same size of our cells?

Yes they are the same size, our cells and elephant cells are all animal cells, the cells within our bodies differ in size according to their function as do any other multicellular organisms, but if you took a cell from the heart of a human or from an elephant they would be close to each other in size.

How does a bacteria cell differ from a plant or animal cell?

A bacteria cell differs structurally from plant and animal cells because of its small size. A bacteria cell has flagella outside of the cell to help it move. A bacteria cell does not contain organelles. Only the chromosome and sometimes ribosomes are visible in a bacteria cell.
