When gases r hotter their molecules are more spreadout and are moving much more rapidly making it less dense. While colder gases have molecules that are closer together and don't move as much making it more dense.

Do plates become more dense or less dense when they become cooler?

Cooler material is more dense and hotter material is less. This means that plates become more dense as they cool.

Why does flames of acandle rises upward?

Air in a flame is hotter, and therefore less dense. It will "float" in normal (cooler) air.

Why are heating vents usually placed on the floor of a home?

Convection. The hotter air is less dense than the cooler air already there so, the warmer air will rise to the top of the house while pushing the cooler air down.

Is cooler air more dense?

yeh, cooler air is more dense. that's the reason for fog and rain.

Why does hot molten rock rise up when superhot?

Density is the key. Think of a hot air balloon. Because hot air is less dense than cool air it rises above it, causeing the air balloon to rise. In science, materials that are a hotter temperature are less dense than materials that are cooler in temperature. The molten rock being hotter is less dense and rises about the cool, solid rock.

What is true awarm is less dense than cooler air bwarm air is as dense as cooler air cwarm air has no density dwarm air denser than cool air?

Warm air is less dense than cooler air.

Why are cooler particuls pulled down by gravity?

cooler particles are slower moving thus more dense. the more dense the material the further it will sink

What happenes to the density of a fluid as it becomes hotter?

The hotter part of the fluid becomes less dense and rises to the top. Where as the colder part of the fluid will be more dense and will sink to the bottom.

What happens to the density to the fluid as it becomes hotter?

The hotter part of the fluid becomes less dense and rises to the top. Where as the colder part of the fluid will be more dense and will sink to the bottom.

Would the sun be hotter if it was bigger?

no, and this is very strange. the bigger the star the cooler it is! the smallest and hottest stars are dwarf stars! a lot smaller than our sun, these small stars are too hot and too dense to support life. hope this is helpful :)

Why the flames of fire rise even though gravity pulls things downwards?

The hotter the air the less dense the molecules are so the rise. Just like in a thunderstorm, warm air is quickly thrust upward because of the pressure of the cooler, denser air. Gravity affects(pulls) the cooler, denser air more because it is heavier.

How does heating affect an object?

The hotter an object is, the more vigorously its atoms or molecules vibrate, and in doing so generally they take up more space (the object expands). This implies that a hot object is less dense than when it is cooler (because of its volume increase)
