Generally, the prognosis is worse if the cancer can be found in the liver or brain, if hCG levels are high, or if the original tumor developed outside the gonads.
HCG is most often used to screen for cancer of the testis or ovary. Serial measurements monitor the progress and treatment of these cancers

It is the method of testing for the presence of Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG), which is elevated during pregnancy. This process invovles, firstly, incubation of a urine sample and anti-HCG (complementary antibodies that will bind to the HCG hormone). After incubation an 'Hapton Carrier-Conjugate' is added. This molecule has many HCG residues bound to it. If the patient is pregnant, their urine will be concetrated with HCG and it will be to the antibody, causing most of the antibodies to be bound during the addition of the conjugate. The outcome is that there is no visible clumping of the conjugate therefore the patient will be diagnosed as pregnant. If the patient is not pregnant, the antibody will bind to the conjugates when they are added, causing the larger molecules to be bound together, and form visible clumps.
There are no reasons for hcg in your blood apart from pregnancy but there is a rare cancer that can make hcg in your blood but very low levels we had a 8 yr old patients with hcg in her bloods. Other answer is pregnancy
It is not advisable as there are no studies that say it is safe for a person who has had cancer previously. Cancerous tumors give off hcg as a means of protection from your own bodies antibodies. Should you have a precancerous or cancerous lesion or tumor in your body that has escaped detection, you could be inadvertently feeding those tumors the very protection they require to make inactive your own bodies fight against them. Hcg can help people but only if very very healthy, otherwise can also destroy if you have histories of serious illnesses. Please make sure you always check with your physician or oncologist, if you are thinking of using hcg.

Very high hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels are not typically a direct cause of miscarriage; rather, they are often associated with conditions such as molar pregnancies or multiple gestations. In a normal pregnancy, elevated hCG levels usually indicate a healthy developing fetus. However, if hCG levels are abnormally high due to a pathological condition, they can be linked to complications that may increase the risk of miscarriage. Ultimately, the relationship between hCG levels and miscarriage is complex and influenced by various factors.
If you mean, what does it mean to have a high hcg level in the absence of fetal heart tones, I would say either you have a test tube with hcg in it, or a molar pregnancy.
Tumor hCG refers to human chorionic gonadotropin produced by certain tumors, such as germ cell tumors and trophoblastic diseases, which can indicate malignancy. Beta hCG, on the other hand, specifically refers to the beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin, which is measured in blood tests for pregnancy confirmation and monitoring. While both forms of hCG can be present in the body, tumor hCG is associated with cancer, whereas beta hCG is typically linked to pregnancy. In clinical practice, measuring beta hCG levels can help distinguish between these conditions.
