What were the bombs made of in world war 2?

There were different bombs for different things. The standard bomb had an outer casing made of steel, filled with an explosive similar to TNT. However, there were incendiary bombs, with an outer skin of thin sheet metal, and filled with a hot burning chemical mix intended to start fires. Other bombs were made to penetrate heavy concrete fortifications, a round bomb made to skip across water and destroy dams, and the atomic bombs used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

How did the bouncing bomb work?

The "bouncing bombs" were designed to skip across the surface of a body of water, specifically behind a dam, and nestle close to the dam wall as it sank and exploded. The underwater pressure wave caused by such an explosion was found to be an effective way to partially or completely destroy a dam. The bombs were dropped by heavy bombers, primarily the British Lancaster. The bombs would be spun up to high speed by a motor, then dropped from extremely low altitude (under 80 feet/25 meters). The shallow angle and backspin would cause the bomb to bounce or skip across the water to the dam, then rebound into the dam as it sank. When it reached a pre-arranged depth, a pressure switch or wet switch would detonate the explosives. The main version of these, the "Upkeep" bombs, were designed by Barnes Wallis, a British engineer, and used against German dams in 1943. They contained up to 6,600 pounds (2,994 kg) of Torpex explosives.

How does little bomb burn Throungh peoples skin?

I suppose you are referring to phosphorus bombs. These bombs were made to ignite fires. Phosphorus burns very intensly and will burn you. When it explodes, pieces of burning phosphorus is thrown out in all directions. Just a spec of it will burn you and keep burning. It will even burn under water for a short time. If you want to read a personal account of a Viet Nam soldier who had a phosphorus grenade go off in his hame, read the story of Dave Roever. www.daveroever.org/roeverstory.php

Drinks from World War 2?

water Jager Bombs were actually invented during WWII. Jager came out just before the war and was vastly popular in Nazi Germany. In 1945 when the U.S. was invading Germany, a group of American G.I.s found a bombed out Jager factory and found a number of cases that were still intact. However they found the drink to be unbearable as they were not acquired to the strange taste. As a result they would pour swigs of Jager, into bottles of Fanta which was also created in Nazi Germany during the war and then chug the drink before the two mixed and the taste of the jager consumed the entire beverage. They called the drink a jager bomb because of the "explosion" it caused in their stomachs, but at the time liquor wasn't widely available to the troops so jager bombs were there only options. After the war they brought the idea home with them, and for a few years in the late 40's and into the early 1950's so called Jager Bombs were hugely popular. They were considered a symbol of the U.S.'s victory in Europe and unfortunately in the fifties the drink fell out of popularity and was all but forgotten. It wasn't until the 2000's with the invention of red bull, that the drink found a resurgence.
