There are twenty-four pigs, thirty-two chickens. You really should do your own homework.
ok so..... there have to be 2 times more pigs then chickens.... so in the barn there are 2 chickens and 4 pigs
2 (chickens) x 2 (legs) = 4 (legs)
4 (pigs) x 4 (legs) = 16 (legs)
4 (legs) + 16 (legs) = 20 (legs)
Okay, for starters, we have an unknown amount of chickens, x, and an unknown amount of pigs, y. Now we know that the total amount of pigs and chickens is 220, so
x + y = 220
Next, we know that chickens have 2 legs each, pigs have 4 legs each, and the total amount of legs is 700 so
2x + 4y = 700
Now we have two equations and two unknowns, so we can solve by substitution. Solving the first equation for y, we get
y = 220 - x
Now put that in for the y in the second equation
2x + 4(220 - x) = 700
distribute the 4 and
2x + 880 - 4x = 700
subtracting 880 from both sides and adding -4x and 2x we have
-2x = -180
divide by -2 and
x = 90 chickens
put that in for x in the first equation and solve for y, you get
y = 130 pigs
IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!!! YOU HAVE TO SAY WHAT OTHER ANIMALS HE HAVE
SO YOU CAN MAKE AN EQUATION!!!!!!!
40 pigs and 20 chickens plus 1 goat
130 pigs and 90 chicks
To find the answer that there are five more crows than cows in the farmer's field you need to know how many animal legs are in the field. The complete problem is, "there is a total of 52 legs of all of the animals. How many cows and how many crows are in the field?"
That is impossible, many insects have not been discovered. In general, insects all have 6 legs.
Two ducks and two dogs have a total of how many legs?
There are no animals living without a birth defect that have six legs. The only species with that many legs are insects.
Two ducks would have two legs each, or four legs in total.

There would be a total of 2006 legs in the pasture. There are 500 cows with four legs each which is 2000. The horse has four legs and the farmer has two legs. This makes a total of 2006 legs.

ANSWER* the farmer has 130 pigs. you usually solve these problems with diagrams but since there are larger numbers i did it this way: there are 220 animals, and you know that they all have at least two legs. 220 x 2 = 440. you have 700 legs all together, so you subtract. 700 - 440= 260. you need 260 more legs. since you already accounted for each to have two legs, you need to divide 260 by 2 to see how many animals need two more legs, to equal four. (a pig.) 260/2= 130. therefore, 130 animals have four legs, making 130 pigs.
28 + 44You can plug in the animals.
Let x = ducks and y = pigs x (ducks) + y (pigs) = 22 (total animals) 2x (legs of ducks) + 4y (legs of pigs) = 56 (total legs) Multiply the first part (the total animals) by two 2x + 2y = 44 then subtract the two problems 2y = 12 then y = 6 go back to the original x + 6 = 22 then x = 16 16 ducks (32 legs) + 6 pigs (24 legs) = 22 animals (56 legs)
13 pigs and 1 duck.

chickens chickens
The answer is 2.If you over read it you will be confused but the question merely asked "how many legs do you have" not the total number of legs of the animals you have. LOL...
I believe it's 75 rabbits. There are 105 animals. There are 75 x 4(rabbit legs) = 300 legs and 30 x 2(chicken legs) = 60 legs, which totals 360 legs. The 75 rabbits plus 30 chickens equals 105 animals.
