FedEx Hold at Location service is one of the following:

The shipper can send a package directly to one of our many FedEx Office Locations or a FedEx station that accepts Hold at Location packages

-or-

The recipient can request for the package to be held after the 1st delivery attempt is made to delivery address. In turn, the package can be held for pickup at a FedEx Office Location or at the station itself.

This is a good option for people who wont be home and packages are requiring signatures. The Office locations and Stations will hold the package for up to 5 business days from the first attempt or if no attempts are made they will hold up to 5 business days from the commit date.
