I would hope that anyone convicted of a crime involving animal abuse or neglect or of any crime involving misuse or redirection of controlled substances would be unable to be licensed. For specifics, it's probably best to check with the Veterinary Medical Board which governs your area.

The governing body that oversees veterinary technicians would have the final say. In many instances though, no you would likely not be able to get credentialed as a veterinary technician with a felony.
