Acetone will work fairly well to remove the polyester resin--until the resin sets. Trichloroethane (e.g., ZipStrip) will soften the cured resin, possibly enough to remove it. Always try it on an inconspicuous spot before you commit to treat the whole garment. I know of a guy who had to wear a towel home because the acetone turned his polyester trousers into what looked like snot when he soaked them.
Yes
it causes it to harden.
If it is plastic (many speedboats are metal) it will be the plastic Epoxy Resin (exactly the same as the glue) with fiberglass cloth to reinforce it. Epoxy Resin is very strong but somewhat brittle (like concrete), the fiberglass prevent cracks in the Epoxy Resin from growing and reinforces it (like the steel rebar in reinforced concrete does).
THe ingredients are coth tape, polyethylene resin,a rubber based adhesive, fabric, glue, and resin, and last but not least casron cabrnate
Yes and it make a really obnoxious smoke too. The glass fibers don't burn of course just the resin.
Fibreglass resin is a polyester.
Yes
resin and fiberglass are kindda hard to compare cuz there for different levels of experience most beginners start on resin but fiberglass is lighter which helps u go for longer runs but it is a little bit harder to control
Go to the automotive section of your local Wal-Mart and get some Bondo (fiberglass resin) for small repairs, or Bondo Glass (fiberglass threads and resin). You can adhere pieces like completing a puzzle with the plain resin or fill in large holes with the threads and resin. I also suggest fiberglass mat if you need to completely recreate a piece.
it causes it to harden.
Fiberglass is obtained by extrusion of melted glass through extremely small orifices.
Fibreglass resin.
Depends on the weight of the fabric. It is simple enough to convert a weight of resin to a weight of fabric - 1:1
It is a composite of poly resin & fiberglass with color molded through out.
If you are referring to a fiberglass wall manufactured from fiberglass, resin, and gelcoat, the answer is absolutely. Best of all, the repair is really inexpensive.
Lexan is a polycarbonate plastic. Fiberglass is exactly that, fibers of glass bound together with a resin.
Fiberglass resin can be used for arts and crafts, but it should be used with caution. Wear protective clothing, gloves and glasses. A facial mask is also a necessary item to prevent breathing in the fibers. This resin is good for making molds.
