This largely depends on the language of the order for support and the rules in the child's state about age of majority and emancipation. Emancipation generally means that the child is self-sufficient; having her own apartment does not, in itself, constitute emancipation.
he sure does....
until age 19
If the child is 18 years old.
If that's required in your state, both parents.
In the state of Georgia court ordered child support continues until the child turns 18 years old. There is the exception if the child is still in high school than the order will continue until they finish high school or turn 20 years old.
If this is what you mean by "emancipated": I'm pretty sure you're not legally obligated to support her financially, as long as she is at least 18 years old.
It depends on your state law and support order. In some cases you must pay support while the child is in school, even past 18 years old.
3 years of pre-school (3 to 5 years old), 6 years of elementary school (6 to 12 years old), 6 years of high school (13 to 17 years old). From 3 years to 3rd grade of high school is mandatory by law.
You have to be 4 years old to go to school in Chile. You can stop going when you are 13 years old.
What i would do is since you pay child support and the child is 18 yearsl old and may or may not be graduating, what i would do is go to the circuit clerks office in your state and file motion to have child suppoer stoped.you can all so go to the school the 18 year old child attends and ask the school to see that child's records.since you pay child support you should have the rights to the 18 year olds school records for information and sometimes if a child is 18 years old and is still in school the only way you would or maybe could have to pay chlld support at age 18 years old would be if that 18 year old is making passing grades in a college.I live in West Virginia and we pay child support to 17/an a half year old and we just fount out this 17/1/2 year old has droped out of school and still in the 9th grade.so we are going to the circuit clerks office to have chlld support stoped because this kid is passing and has droped out of school and the kid will be 18 years old in just 2 months.hope this helps u out some. night_movess1995@yahoo.com
