I was told By H&R Block on Jan. 15 or 16 the IRS will accept tax returns
Answer:
The above is a nice offical answer...from someone wanting you to give them business as soon as possible.
The IRS processing division is not really fully staffed and returns can't be really processed until the corresponding employer/payor information is received...so it really doesn't start happening until around 2/15.
They have not accepted my yet, i submitted e-file on Feb 2nd. I heard they will accept on 14th

No....When the IRS accepts your taxes they are basically saying that all your personal info, dependent info, etc matches what they have in their system. Your return still has to go through another process before it is approved.
The IRS can audit a return up to three years after a return has been filed.
WHAT IF and you WERE NOT their QUALIFYING DEPENDENT. Then you will have to file a complete and correct PAPER 1040 federal income tax return and mail it to the correct IRS mailing address. Then the IRS will see if it can determine which 1040 income tax return they will accept as being correct.

Prior year income tax returns CAN NOT FILED ONLINE to the IRS. You will have to complete the 2008 income tax return and mail it to the correct IRS address.
ko! what kind of help? The IRS website can help, or I can.

Yes you can but it will have to be a paper income tax return and be mailed to the correct IRS address that will be on the last page of the 1040 instruction book that you are using for the 2008 income tax return

Download form 1040-X and instructions from the IRS website and prepare to be befuddled.
