No. Porcelain is a man-made substance made from clay and fired in a kiln.
clay heated in a kiln really hot
Porcelain works by first mixing the clay, kaolin, and mullite and then you woudl put it in a kiln. when it is done you can glaze it or leave it he way it is.
I used the kiln to finish the clay project.
Mix kaolin, feldspar, sand and water. Form the shape that you want using either slip casting, extrusion or dry pressing. Dry the shape. Fire in a kiln that is capable of 2,200F. Your soak time will be dependent on the size of your object. Cool the kiln slowly to prevent fracture. Enjoy your porcelain.
Porcelain does not have a boiling point because it is not a liquid like water. It is a type of ceramic material that undergoes a firing process in a kiln to create a hard and non-porous surface.
No! Porcelain is a clay mixture fired in a kiln that is commonly called "china" because the mixture/process was first invented in that country. It is delicate and contains metallic elements that will heat up quickly and break the porcelain when in contact with heat. Also, porcelain china should not be used in a microwave because of the metal elements.
